J’ai été bénévole pour l’association «Les compagnons bâtisseurs» durant le mois de juillet 2014.
Nous étions 12 bénévoles encadrés par un moniteur technique.
Nous avons tenté de rénover et reconstruire l’enclos paroissial de l’église de Montautour (Ile et vilaine -35) qui fait partie du chemin de marche vers Saint Jacques de Compostel.
Au programme : maçonnerie traditionnelle.
Nous avons fait nous même du mortier traditionnel à base d’eau, de sable et de chaux.
L’objectif était en 3 semaines de nettoyer l’existant, renforcer en utilisant des joints faits avec du mortier traditionnel, remettre à niveau le mur et créer un chapeau.
Nous avons également taillé, le peu de joint existant pour les remplacer et enfin reconstruit une partie du mur qui n’existait pas en faisant attention à l’alignement grâce à un cordeau.
Ce stage fut très enrichissant. D'un point de vue technique, j’ai compris les tenants et les aboutissants d’un chantier du point de vue d’un ouvrier. D’un point de vue humain : parmi les 12 bénévoles, il y avait 7 nationalités différentes, et cet échange culturel qui nous a été offert fait partie des plus belles expériences de ma vie.
I volunteered for the association "The companions builders" during the month of July 2014.
There were 12 volunteers supervised by a technical instructor. We tried to renovate and rebuild the churchyard of the Church of Montautour (Ile et Vilaine -35) part of the walking route to "Saint Jacques de Compostel".
The program was traditional masonry. We made from scratch water-based traditional mortar. We also cut the few existing joint to replace them and finally rebuilt part of the wall that was not there, paying attention to the alignment with a cord.
This internship was very rewarding for me. From a technical point of view, I understand the ins and outs of a construction site from a worker perspective.
From a human point of view among the 12 volunteers, there were 7 different nationalities and cultural exchange that has been offered is one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
More specifically: The objective was in 3 weeks to clean the existing, strengthen using joints made with traditional mortar, re-level the wall and create a hat.
